Exempt Summary/Objective:
This position is an entry-level position into the Trader career path within the Building Products Division.
The Associate Trader will learn the role of each type of Trader within the division and learn all aspects of the job including products, customers and vendors, all while contributing to the corporate objectives of LBM Advantage.
Essential Functions:
Spend a minimum 60 days in each department (Commodities, Specialties, Millwork) Handle all duties related to basic Trader functions including quotes, negotiate pricing, order generation, confirmations, shipment mechanics, follow-up, trace and status reports, dealer profiles, lead and target tracking While pursuing product and industry knowledge, Associate Trader will engage in outbound phone work, internal vendor meetings and external travel opportunities to LBM Advantage locations- all under in an effort to learn all aspects of the Building Products business.
Work with Management, Traders and Member Development to foster clear and direct approach to department goals and objectives.
The Associate Trader should develop a 'Market Feel during his/her first year, enough to move into any trader position within the Building Products division Establish and maintain department projects and demonstrate an overall team attitude within Division.
Continually upgrade product and member knowledge pertaining to each individual group within Building Products Division.
Handle all Trader / Vendor / Member issues, including conflicts, claims, late shipments resolve billing disputes and make independent decisions during the resolution with the parties involved Coordinate the administration of literature and sales Establish and maintain confidential marketing, sales, and historical member files Travel to shows, conferences, training, dealers and vendors as required.
Perform other related duties as required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full time position.
Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:
00 am to 5:
00 pm, 40 hours per week.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local on a regular basis, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected Required Education and

High school diploma At least 3 years of experience in the sales field and experience in buying Preferred Education and
