Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and attentive care to pets in our shelter.
Significant physical activity is required.
- Feed, groom, and play with pets according to their specific needs and schedules - Administer medications or treatments as instructed - Monitor and maintain the overall health and well-being of pets under your care - Clean up after pets, including litter boxes, cages, and outdoor areas - Provide updates on pet's activities and behavior as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in pet care or related fields is preferred - Knowledge of behavior management techniques for different types of pets - Ability to provide patient care and handle animals with varying temperaments - Familiarity with caregiving responsibilities.
- Experience in cleaning and maintaining a clean environment for pets - Understanding of dementia care for senior pets is a plus - Knowledge of systems and procedures related to direct support in a pet care setting - Background in social work or nursing is beneficial but not required Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and experience requirements.
